It's that time of year again when football is a very important topic in our house. The season has started off well for Liverpool FC and my son has already started to drop hints about a return to Anfield. My article about our last trip is available on the Sunday World website and to read it just click here http://www.sundayworld.com/lifestyle/travel/weekend
It really is a lovely city to visit and there is a lot more to see than football. I managed to fit in a Beatles Pilgrimage too. Here we are at the original Strawberry Fields. A local cab driver brought us on a tour of all the Beatles sights and it's a great way to get to see everything when you have a pressing appointment like a football match to go to.
I look forward to our return but we have some other destinations to see first and I will be blogging soon about our visit to Bluestone Park in Wales - you will be able to read about it in the Irish Mail on Sunday too.
Happy travels

Barbie Girls with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line!
The press trip which started all this travel writing happened earlier this year when I was invited to take my daughter on a Royal Caribbean Cruise...and what a trip it was! My eight-year-old had to be coaxed (kicking and screaming I might add) off the ship after our seven night stay.
We started off in Fort Lauderdale and took two days to reach the paradise island of Labadee. It truly was a sight to behold and with plenty to entice us back on the ship from Barbie events to new friends we started our journey to the next port of call Falmouth, Jamaica.
Here we trekked Dunes River Falls and felt very adventurous indeed - Bob Marley music of course was everywhere and when we skyped my husband and son back in Dublin later that day they were very jealous!
Final destination was Cozumel Mexico and by now we were in a dream - the full article can be read by clicking here http://www.royalcaribbeanpresscenter.com/view-in-the-news/65/when-barbie-met-ken/ and Nicole had such a fab time she blogged about it herself!
If you ever considered cruising with kids then read this article that I wrote for the Irish Mail on Sunday first!

Son and the City
This year I took my son to New York with United Airlines and we stayed in the fabulous Beacon Hotel on Broadway - it's a great location and close to the Natural History Museum and Central Park. New York is somewhere you think of taking the girls but I can vouch for it as a destination for boys too. For more information see http://www.nycgo.com/

Welcome to the Novel Traveller
Hello and welcome!
I have finally decided to start a Travel Blog and it is long overdue. I have written six novels set in various locations around the world and have been writing travel articles for months now. So I have decided to dedicate some time to blogging about my travels and I will be tweeting and facebooking too.
Nothing expands the mind like travel and I love to see new locations and watch different cultures. After teaching art for many years I think nothing inspires young and old like seeing the way people live, work, eat and make beautiful art around the world. I hope you will join me and leave comments, questions and suggestions.
